A Windward Oahu family hoping to find their missing son

Tony and Jeanie Bustamante have not seen their son in
more than three months.

"Its sad not knowing because we put so much effort and love into this child," says Jeanie Bustamante, Aaron's mother.

37 year-old Aaron Bustamante was originally born on the Big Island to a schizophrenic mother...after birth he was flown to Honolulu and placed with a foster family.

We got him at 6 weeks old through Liliuokalani Children's Center, there was a possibility he would come down with schizophrenia but we took a chance with him and we just loved him so," says Jeanie.

The Bustamantes, who have five children of their own, had been foster parents to dozens of other children for 14 years until they legally adopted aaron when he was 3 years-old.
We feel that we adopted him because he is a special child," says Tony Bustamante, Aaron's father.

Raising him since he was an infant they started noticing a change in his behavior during his late teenage years...Aaron was eventually diagnosed with schizophrenia and became too much to handle for the aging couple.

"I felt real guilty because I put him in a group home because I couldn't handle him," says Tony.

The quiet man who liked to be alone eventually decided to live on the streets in Kailua where Tony would bring him meals everyday...until 15 weeks ago when he disappeared.
"I feel real terrible, I been looking for him since he missing. I go to Hotel street, Waikiki," says Tony.

Last month Crimestoppers issued a missing persons alert asking for help to find the 5'8" 190 pound man with hazel eyes and brown hair -- all leads turned up empty.

"I never give up, I keep going, I keep looking for him day and night after work sometimes I have to leave my wife and my handicapped child to look for him," says Tony.
