Victoria’s Secret Opens Waikiki Store with Supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio

Victoria’s Secret celebrated the grand opening of its new Waikiki store Oct. 11 with an appearance by model Alessandra Ambrosio. Situated on the corner of Kalakaua and the Royal Hawaiian in the Waikiki Shopping Plaza, it is Victoria’s Secret second location in Hawaii.

The store’s modern interior sports oversized chandeliers and classic VS striped furniture, and its walls are littered with sexy black-and-white photographs. Its design includes lingerie-inspired detailing, such as a three-dimensional, corset-inspired ribbon pattern on the walls.

The Brazilian Ambrosio, 30, is recognized as the company’s first spokesmodel for their “PINK” clothing and lingerie line. A frequent visitor to the Islands, Ambrosio gushed, “I love Hawaii! It’s one of the most exotic, beautiful places . . .I love surfing, and Waikiki, for me, is the best place to surf.”

The store will carry the VS swim collection year-round, as it is only a few steps away from what Ambrosio referred to as “the world’s sexiest beach.” It also features a “Bra Salon” and a “Panty Boutique,” as well as a “Beauty Bar” carrying the newly launched VS makeup collection.

Although smaller than the company’s Ala Moana Center store (a sprawling 20,000 square-feet), Waikiki’s flux of shoppers is bound to keep the store packed.
