If you’re looking for a little get-away but don’t have the money for inter-island travel you may want to check out some of the Kama’aina hotel rates that are going on this summer in Waikiki. For those of you on Oahu, it’s not a far travel, no matter where you’re coming from.
First up, the Aqua Hotel & Resorts have plenty of locations to choose from and have decided that in addition to the random specials that pop up they’re offering 12% off any of their already low rates. Their Try Hawaii First Kama’aina specials run at all their locations and with newly revamped hotels, offer clean accomodations if you’re looking just to get down in the mix.
If you want to go super cheap they have rates under $60 at the Maile Sky Court but even the Aqua Surf is under $80. Plenty to choose from with so many Aqua Properties in Waikiki.
Also available for Kama’aina rates are some of the outrigger hotels in Waikiki. The Ohana branch of outrigger hotels has 4 Waikiki locations to choose from an $69 rates. That’s pretty cheap if you’re just looking for a weekend of fun down at Duke’s or Lulu’s and then a slow relaxing day at the pool. Ohana Waikiki East has the cheapest at $69 and then going up to $89 with Ohana Waikiki Malia having a rate of $115 for a room with a kitchenette. Check out their rates for more info.
Finally, you can step it up a little bit but still get a decent deal on an Ocean View room at the Illikai for $184. They have specials running all the time you just need to check with them often and see if they have what you’re looking for. The Illikai is in a great location, right near some top surf breaks on the south shore, the shops and restaurants of the Hilton Hawaiian Village and the pool deck at the Edition Waikiki.
