HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Coast Guard and Honolulu Fire Department has resumed its search for a diver that vanished while diving off Kahala waters Monday morning.
The 22-year-old experienced diver from New York was with a guided tour group.
The Coast Guard Cutter Kittywake was on the scene over night.
The Coast Guard also has another boat and aircraft assisting in the search.
Island Divers, the company that took the diver out to sea, has three search boats in waters a half-mile off the Waialae Country Club.
According to HFD Capt. Terry Seelig, large swells are rolling in, but the rough conditions should not present a problem for search and rescue crews.
We'll have more information on this story as it becomes available.
