FLOWER POWER: Hiroshi Kojima, a 60-year charter member of the Ewa Orchid Society, stood Friday among the plants at the 60th Orchid Show, which was dedicated to him. The orchid show runs through Sunday at Ewa Elementary School.
'ONE WORLD': Jordanian and Palestinian students interacted Wednesday with students from Campbell High School, the University Lab School at the University of Hawaii, Waipahu High School, Kealakehe High School, Moanalua High School and Island Pacific Academy through a program called "One World Now,"which teaches Arabic and leadership to underserved high school youth. Hadeel Draz of Jordan, left, Gabriella Gualano of the University Lab School, Palestinians Sabreen Barghothy, and Nazeehah Khan, Katie Phan and Ashley Brice-Digman of Campbell High School tried the debka, an Arab dance. The program is sponsored by the Qatar Foundation International and its local partner is Pacific Affairs Council.
